On March 14, the new action-thriller film, Novocaine, is in theaters. It stars American actor Jack Quaid as Nathan “Novocaine” Caine and American actress Amber Midthunder as Sherry Margrave. The movie is filled with many twists and turns keeping audience hooked after the long promotion and hype that led up to the release. From the time it was released, it has made $32.3 million with an $18 million budget.

“The movie was interesting to say the least. I like how action packed it was, and everything felt unexpected,” senior Nathan Valxsco said.

The movie tested Nathan's inability to feel pain. In the movie, Nathan builds up the courage to go out with his coworker Sherry. When Sherry is held as hostage and abducted, Nathan Caine is quick to her defense as he has an inspiring love for her. Nathan uses his ability to not feel pain against the kidnappers and is found in multiple fights throughout the movie. Viewers expected Nathan to die many times throughout the movie, but miraculously survived. At the end of the movie one of the robbers has the upper hand of Nathan Caine, but Nathan ends up killing him with his own bone saving Sherry.

“I liked Novocaine because it reminds me of myself. I say that because this is the exact way I’d save the girl of my dreams,” senior Jonathan Wang said.

Don’t miss out on the action packed thriller mixed with romance.
